Technical Business Analysis Specialist – SimCorp Dimension (SCD), Charles River (CRIMS), CGI’s MPOWER, Markit EDM (IDH)

The Technical Business Analysis Specialist is responsible for providing application support and business analysis for the applications under management (CRIMS, SCD, MPOWER, IDH). This role requires an understanding of the financial services industry, with focus on Portfolio Management, Compliance, Securities Trading, Matching and Settlement, Portfolio Accounting, Custody, Fund Accounting.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • This role is primarily focused on supporting the delivered features and functionalities for our Asset Management line of business.
  • The incumbent must have Hands-on experience configuring and supporting solutions on at least one of our applications under management (CRIMS, SCD, MPOWER, IDH).
  • The incumbent must have knowledge of process flows for equities, fixed income, ETF, money market and derivative financial instruments, including market trading conventions and portfolio management.
  • Good to have knowledge on accounting methodologies and best practices, regulatory requirements, back-office processes and the end-to-end workflows among the front, middle and back office.
  • Experience supporting multiple applications used in the asset management area is a plus (e.g., MCH, iFAST, Bloomberg, Market Trading Systems, CANDEAL, FIX).
  • SimCorp Dimension (SCD), Charles River (CRIMS), CGI’s MPOWER, Markit EDM (IDH)
  • Highly skilled in making configuration/changes on at least one of the applications above to meet lines of business requirements.
  • Sound understanding of applications landscape in Asset Management business (Portfolio and Order Management , Investment Accounting/Investment Book of Record, Client Book of Record, Matching and Settlement, file transfers, securities data, compliance, Fund Accounting, etc.)
  • Expertise on batch jobs for Order Management Systems and identifying areas of improvements in overnight processes

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 7 – 10+ years of practical IT experience supporting applications for the relevant lines of business is highly desirable (Asset Management, Investment Accounting, Securities Trading, Portfolio Management, etc.)
  • The incumbent must be a creative, self-starting, results oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems.
  • The incumbent must also possess a very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real time analytical and formal modelling tools and keep current with rapidly changing technology.
  • Project Management experience with a strong understanding of agile project management principles and practices is an asset
  • The incumbent must have advanced knowledge of financial instruments, including market conventions and valuation methods, risk management methodologies and models including best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements
  • The incumbent must be adept at understanding Asset Management processes (trading, order management, risk, compliance, performance) and the end-to-end workflows and integration with Middle and Back Offices in one or more financial asset classes (e.g., fixed income, foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, business, Information sciences or another related field
  • Industry recognized certifications/charters will be an asset (CBAP/CFA/CPA/FRM/etc.)
