About the role
Brandon University is seeking Contract Academic Staff Instructors in the School of Music to teach one-on-one applied instruction in the following instrumental areas from September 3 to December 22, 2025 (Fall term) and from January 6 to April 25, 2026 (Winter term).
Instrumental Area
Piano – Fall & Winter
Fall Term: September 3 to December 22, 2025 (applied juries held on December 9 & 10, 2025)
Winter Term: January 6 to April 26, 2026 (Winter term) (applied juries held on April 13 & 14, 2026)
Qualifications: Master’s degree in music is required, relevant teaching experience preferred. Equivalent traditional/experiential career paths will also be considered. For more information on establishing a traditional/experiential equivalency, please contact Greg Gatien at gatieng@brandonu.ca. Preference may be given to applicants who are able to teach in both terms.
Salary: $1309.50 per student for each term of instruction/ $2619 per student for full year (effective September 1, 2026)
Application deadline: July 30, 2025 or until position is filled
Applications should include a letter of application, a statement of citizenship or Canadian immigration status, a current curriculum vitae, and the names of three references.
