Access to Success (ATS) is a Toronto-based global accelerator for accessibility startups. We help scale life-changing innovations for people with disabilities by providing unique programming, resources and funding.

We are seeking a Market Research Intern who can help deepen our understanding of the global disability innovation ecosystem and identify high-impact connections. Working closely with the organization’s leadership, you will research and map key organizations, companies, investors, and leaders working in accessibility tech, health tech, disability, aging, and adjacent sectors. Your work will help identify high-potential collaborators, mentors, and ecosystem partners for ATS and our startup cohorts.

This is a high impact role where your work will directly benefit the accessibility startups we serve. Collaborating closely with our Program Manager, your research will ensure our startups are well-supported with meaningful connections in every corner of the world.

Timing: Fall term (September-December 2025)

Format: Full-time or part-time (based on candidate’s availability)

Location: Toronto, Ontario. You may be required to be in-person in downtown Toronto 2-3 times per week.

Compensation: $22/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and map key organizations, companies, investors, and leaders across accessibility tech, health tech, aging, disability, and related sectors.
  • Build and maintain organized lists and profiles of relevant organizations to support targeted outreach and relationship-building.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure startups in the ATS accelerator are connected to relevant organizations and experts.
  • Contribute to the expansion and refinement of the Accessibility Investments Database (AID), ensuring accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Monitor global trends in disability innovation and assistive technology, synthesizing insights for internal use.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven research skills via previous participation in some form of market research and analysis.

  • Comfortable leveraging AI, databases, and web searches to extract information and synthesize insights.

  • Must be familiar with Airtable and Excel.

  • Exceptionally strong written communication and comfortable writing clear and concise summaries of people, organizations, and ecosystems.

  • Understanding of the disability inclusion and accessibility landscape will be an asset but is not required.

  • Important notes:

  • People with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply! As a not-for-profit working for disability inclusion, lived experience with disabilities is a tangible skillset that will add to our mission.

  • In the spirit of inclusivity, we will share most of the interview questions with the shortlisted candidates in advance - we want you to bring your best to the interview.

If interviewees can be asked to provide references, employers should too. Here are ours:

  • Lessons from my dream job (Medium article)
  • “A rewarding experience where you can see the direct impact of your work. Access to Success is a place that fosters an open work environment for creativity, growth and innovation. It is a chance to be a part of an inclusive community and learn about exciting innovations happening in the accessibility space. Even in the tougher days, the camaraderie and friendships with an amazing team will make it worth it.”
