Reporting to the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions, Canada, the Admissions Advisor serves as a primary point of contact for individuals seeking to further their education, ensuring a seamless and positive experience from enquiry to enrollment for Halifax English Language and Career Colleges programs. The Admissions Advisor will complete direct-to-student (DTC) recruitment activities for our Halifax English School and Career College campus through strong domestic recruitment techniques and excellent customer service, in addition to expert knowledge on our programs, scholarships, financial aid options, and the admissions process. This involves nurturing student leads through phone calls, emails, text, and in-person campus tours, sourcing out and attending relevant events and school fairs, helping plan and attending Open Houses and Virtual Information Sessions, and driving recruitment activities for Halifax. The Admissions Advisor must be based in Halifax or the Greater Halifax Area, with the ability to commute to our Halifax campus 40 hours/week.

The Admissions Advisor must therefore have an ease with communications, love talking with students and helping them achieve their goals and believe in the power of transformative education. Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of the Canada direct-to-consumer (DTC) team across marketing, recruitment, admissions, operations, and school staff to ensure a smooth student experience from enquiry and application to enrolment.
  • Support all students with integrity, timeliness, and care.
  • Develop a great working knowledge of Oxford International Halifax English School and Oxford International Career Colleges Halifax campus programs, career opportunities and demand, target student personas, scholarship and financial aid offerings, and the competitive landscape.
  • Provide detailed information on accommodation, financial assistance, student loans, medical requirements, transportation, and all other aspects to help prepare them for successful enrolment and a positive study experience at Oxford International.
  • Assist students with the completion of enrolment forms, documentation, understanding of and application to scholarships and financial aid where applicable.
  • Nurture warm leads who have expressed an interest in our programs through various engagement activities across multiple channels such as phone calls, text, social media, email, in-person meetings, campus tours, etc.
  • Monitor and track lead status, applications, and sales to ensure that key performance indicators are being met and actively participate in ongoing reporting process to ensure key stakeholders are informed.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing to help inform market trends, key messaging, competitive intel, event strategies, campaign optimization, and general best practices.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct presentations and workshops to prospective parents, high school students, guidance counsellors, partners, etc.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and employ strong selling strategies to help guide and nurture student leads from the moment they enter into the pipeline to enrolment.

Person Specifications

  • Familiar with domestic student recruitment in Canada and experience working in the Canadian higher education recruitment space. Preferably in a Career College where employment outcomes are a priority.
  • Friendly and approachable professional with a student-centric mindset.
  • Flexible and solution-oriented, you respond positively to new challenges while maintaining a proactive approach.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, you excel in achieving and exceeding targets, bringing strategic insight and thriving in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

  • Based in Halifax or the Greater Halifax Area with the ability to commute to our downtown Halifax campus 40 hours/week.
  • Proven experience in executing effective recruitment and customer service strategies with measurable positive outcomes within Halifax or Nova Scotia, Canada.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including proficiency in English, coupled with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in using CRM systems, ideally HubSpot.
  • A collaborative team player who excels at setting priorities, working independently, and consistently exceeding targets.
  • It would be an asset if you have proficiency in languages such as Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi, Tagalog, or Korean.
