Job Description Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a Slitter Operator in our Petrolia, ON (Canada) Plant. Job Summary This position is a unionized role as part of our production team. As a Slitter Operator you will be required to learn, understand and put into practice all of our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with another operator. You must be able to work in an environment with many distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. No travel is required for this position. Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate slitting/packaging cell to cut, package and label various rolled roofing products
- Provide support to maintenance team members to help troubleshooting machine issue, and make improvements (optimization), within the department.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results
- Perform daily walk around your work area to ensure guards and safety devices are in place
- Perform checks on safety equipment and record results as part of an ongoing safety program Perform checks to validate the acceptability of product packaging and product counts
- Perform other duties as required
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail
- Working knowledge of safety standards WHMIS
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Team Leader
Education And Experience

Required:

High School Diploma required or equivalent.

Two to Three Years of Manufacturing experience

Experience working with manufacturing machines is an asset
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.
- Monday – Sunday; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm& 7:00 pm – 7:00 am. Rotating Shifts
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used
- Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor.
- Safety toe shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor.
- Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.
