Position Summary
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Leasing Agent is responsible for generating quality leads for prospective tenants to fill our vacancies. The successful candidate will also be required to perform all related administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving and handling inquiries for leasing from prospective customers, provide information on all aspects of properties
- Lease suites with goals in mind to achieve high occupancy rates of the properties
- Determine the needs, living standards and economic viability of prospect customers
- Present properties and amenities in a positive manner to prospective tenants
- Schedule appointments for showing; present the available apartments in a friendly and knowledgeable fashion
- Represent the company in a professional manner
- Negotiate leasing terms and conditions and gather required information to close deals
- Submit applications to head office and related paperwork as required for approval
- Ensure all paperwork and move-ins are completed properly
- Monitoring of branding- inspect properties periodically to ensure proper maintenance, check cleanliness and maintenance of building, report condition of all vacant suites available for rent
- Complete vacancy reports, provide report of the suites shown or to be shown
- Required to work 40 hours per week, due to the nature of the business, the Leasing Agent must work on the first day and last day of every month
- Required to balance time between the field (showing suites etc.) and the office (admin/paperwork)
- Other relevant duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have experience in apartment leasing
- Experience in sales/ customer service an asset
- Experience or knowledge of Yardi software will be an asset
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to use at work
- Comfortable in interacting with a variety of people on a daily basis
- Exceptional planning and organization skills
- Strong communicator with the ability to build excellent relationships with customers
- Above average problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Willing to work on any 5 consecutive days in the week which may include Saturdays or Sundays, month ends and beginning of months
- Able to effectively manage time and resources to ensure deadlines are met
- Must successfully complete a security clearance
- Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act and building systems an asset
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to use at work
