About the role

Role Impact:

To coordinate and support various construction project activities/processes and implement the landlord's obligation to the tenant with respect to provision of the physical facility and services.

This is a 16-month contract role with a Monday to Friday schedule and is eligible to participate in our comprehensive core benefits package, including medical and dental benefits.

What you will deliver:

  • Coordinate review of design and engineering drawings by analyzing and distributing them to consultants and in-house operations personnel.

  • Manage and maintain all Projects department documentation including contract, bulletins, plans, drawings database.

  • Provide information and guidance to tenant designers, architects and engineers both verbally and by provision of suitable manuals and drawings to maintain the integrity of the CF property.

  • Inspect tenant and base building construction to ensure work is completed on time and on budget with minimum disruption or downtime for tenants and clients.

  • Collect data from contractors and consultants regarding budgets for base building renovations, demolition and restoration to standard to support project, leasing and accounting departments.

  • Prepare and issue contracts.

  • Issue purchase orders and process contractors' invoices for progress payments by assessing contract status, percentage of progress, consultation with architects, etc. to support accounting department.

  • Develop scope of work for construction projects by creating detailed descriptions of requirements and RFP proposals to enable contractors to submit precise tenders.

  • Evaluate and analyze construction tenders by comparing competitor's prices to ensure the best value for CF

  • Manage office tower and retail tenant turnkey projects by coordinating all aspects and communicating with consultants, tenants and/or their representatives to ensure a seamless move into the property.

  • Prepare and follow up on a deficiency report by inspection of construction. Coordinate with engineers to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with codes and standards to provide tenant satisfaction.

  • Ensure tenant compliance by sharing information about the base building criteria and intent of base building systems.

  • Monitor scheduled events, project achievements and submission of required information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What your strengths are:

  • Ability to read and interpret and present architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural drawings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong negotiation, problem solving/conflict resolution skills

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills

  • Able to show tact and diplomacy when dealing with all parties

  • Ability to multi-task and meet timelines in a fast paced environment

  • A great teammate who is also able to work independently and have a positive impact on the team

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum 3 years' progressive experience in one or more of the following: construction (field and office), project management

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, Construction Management or related fields

  • PMP designation or working towards an asset

  • Knowledge of the industry and related technology
