SUMMARY
The Account Manager leads and administers the selling of products, services and capabilities. It includes the planning, implementation, and execution of sales cycles/campaigns, as well as promoting the company with prospects leading to the successful addition of new business opportunities.
The primary objective of this position is to identify and close company services and capabilities sales through their effective and proven sales processes with attention to detail regarding targeted accounts and assigned territory/account needs. It is critical for you to be a “self-starter” with the ability to work independently in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Handling of all prospect/customer lifecycle from prospecting to initial discovery, through SOW/Proposal development, closing and client on-boarding
· Knowledge of assigned territory and industries would be an asset
· Use the proven company selling process and learn techniques to overcome objections, gain access to key decision makers, and move opportunities from leads to prospects while building a pipeline consisting of multiple prospects
· Ability to demonstrate and effective prospecting discipline and experience that includes phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, and digital prospecting efforts in CRM
· Responsible for obtaining revenue targets through your sales results by developing excellent client relationships
· Along with sales, revenue, and expense controls, the candidate is also responsible for meeting agreed activity targets and sales metrics per month, quarter, and year
· Contribute and report personal sales metrics in the weekly sales team meetings and 1v1 meetings with sales leadership
· Active and effective use of business social media tools such as LinkedIn and other marketing and sales tools/programs to build pipeline
· Manage the sales administration functions that include opportunity/deal tracking using CRM for smooth flow of deals through the sales process from prospecting to client approval
· Weekly reporting of personal sales metrics, reports, and communications involving personal activities and actions needed to drive sales per month
· Other occasional duties and tasks as assigned or needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
· Degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution an asset or equivalent experience
· 1-3 years of sales experience in a B2B environment
· Valid Driver’s License and criminal background check clearance
· Strong negotiation, verbal, and communication skills
· Ability to recognize account/revenue/pipeline issues and concerns independently and will create proactive alternative plans to maintain progress
· Possesses the knowledge to perform in a sales role and applies experience, techniques, and skills to sales/work assignments
· Understands requirements of a sales role and can perform the functions successfully and independently in building and running their book of business
· Must have demonstrated the ability to build pipeline, achieve quarterly quota, and build business volumes; must demonstrate the effective use of resources to accomplish this task
· Understands all aspects of selling, closing, account management, and company sales process for direct and indirect engagements with the channel sales teams and partners
· Must be persuasive in presentations and communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients/partners in a way that promotes teamwork and effective business practices
· Ability to analyze problems, assign proper priorities and determine correct actions to take
· Willing to operate in new environments and take on tasks in unfamiliar areas with new customers and products while collaborating with internal team members
· Effectively contribute, listen to others, and be respectful in email and verbal communications to team members and clients
· Demonstrate situational leadership skills in a team environment
