Quality Specialist I – Plant Quality (12-Month Contract) This position reports into Plant Quality Supervisor and is based at Guelph, ON, Canada .

Role reports to: Plant Quality Supervisor
Location: Guelph, ON, Canada
Travel %: 0%
What You Will Do As a Quality Specialist I, you will be responsible for batch record review, batch release, and documentation compliance to ensure quality manufacturing and packaging processes. You will support shop floor activities, participate in audits, and help drive continuous improvement at the Guelph site.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve batch record documentation via systems such as BIOVIA, PAS-X, and SAP
- Perform batch release activities (usage decision in SAP), create Certificates of Analysis/Compliance for global markets
- Support monthly logbook audits and other documentation requirements
- Provide shop floor quality oversight and apply/remove quality hold tags
- Conduct Inspector Certifications and approve in-run repackaging activities
- Support audit-ready shop floor actions and GMP compliance
- Complete Q&C assessments for equipment release in Maximo (CMMS)
- Support EtQ Investigations / RCPS and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Train employees on Good Documentation Practices and gowning procedures
Required Qualifications What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline
- 2–3 years of experience in Quality, R&D, or compliance in pharmaceutical, food, or water industries
- Strong SAP and computer proficiency
- Understanding of pharmaceutical/regulated equipment
- Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced team environment
Desired Qualifications
- BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Pharmaceutical Chemistry
- Process Excellence/Lean certification
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or food industry
