SUMMARY
We are hiring a Data Analyst to join our IT team. This role will be a full-time, permanent position. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to ferocious customer service, treating people right, and being a part of a team. Our team is the heart of everything! The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role, leveraging data to drive strategic business decisions.
The Data Analyst role will report directly to the VP, IT & Digital Transformation, and will be responsible for analyzing data and identifying key trends and opportunities, and presenting findings to leadership and executive teams to inform strategic initiatives. They will work collaboratively cross-functionally with Business Intelligence (BI), Data Engineers, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and various functional teams to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
AS A DATA ANALYST, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:
- Collaborating with BI, Data Engineers, FP&A, and functional teams to understand data needs and business objectives
- Collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Performing exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data-driven insights effectively.
- Conducting statistical analyses and modelling to support informed business decision-making.
- Generating and analyzing reports using analytics platforms, reporting packages, and dashboards such as Oracle Analytics Cloud.
- Ensuring data accessibility, readability, high accuracy, and relevance for its intended consumers across the organization.
- Presenting findings and recommendations to leadership and executive teams in a clear and concise manner
- Assisting in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor business performance.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis and visualization techniques.
- Being a part of a continuous learning environment that focuses on career growth and development through our internal learning platform, DRMG University.
- Assisting with other tasks as assigned by the VP, IT & Digital Transformation.
YOU CAN EXCEL AS A DATA ANALYST IF YOU HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in a data analyst or similar role, preferably within a cross-functional setting.
- Proven track record analyzing and providing insights using financial and operational datasets.
- Strong skills in financial analysis, data analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau, Power BI, or similar is an asset.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation is an asset.
- Familiarity with Python for data analysis is an asset.
