About the role
EmpowHERto partners with black and Latina girls and young women from underserved communities between 14-21, empowering them with the necessary tools to thrive and effect positive systemic change.
This person would be responsible for creating and implementing our communication strategy (including social media platforms) as well as completing Operation related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of communications experience, a passion for the EmpowHERto mission and a commitment to being a strong contributor to our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and implement a marketing and communications strategic plan for approval by the ED and Board of Directors
- Create and coordinator Campaign schedules, including direct mailing and digital
- Seek and establish community partnerships to promote the EmpowHERto brand
- Recreate and implement impact analysis project (to be utilized for annual reports, infographics, grant proposals, etc.).
- Produce and distribute monthly newsletters and bi-monthly special events newsletters
- Implement social media strategy – plan and execute social media campaigns based on content calendar
- Assist with fundraising initiative as needed and other organizational events
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving and decision making skills are essential
- Superior written and spoken communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and a collaborative working style
- Strong written communications skills with the ability to write for different platforms and audiences.
- Ability to use ad platforms for paid promotions on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
