Job Summary
Under the supervision of the program manager, the inclusion coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing developmentally appropriate programs for children in a school aged setting. This role provides direct support to children with diverse needs as well as being responsible for developing and maintaining individualized care plans, coordinating parent meetings as necessary, and working collaboratively with the families and manager to support each child’s holistic well-being.
We are looking for someone fun, creative, passionate, and caring to join our growing team of dedicated, loving and kind staff members. We are in the beautiful Cadboro Bay neighborhood, close to UVIC and bus routes. We operate out of two brand new Learning Studios and the Frank Hobbs gymnasium, surrounded by many playgrounds, beaches and forests.
Employment Date: August 25th, 2025 – June 30th, 2026
Posting closes: open until position is filled
Salary: $24.00 - $25.00 based on experience and education +4% in lieu of vacation pay.
Certified Early Childhood Educators are eligible for the 6$/hour ECE Wage Enhancement as part of our licensed childcare programs.
Hours of Work: Part Time - 25 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Times might be flexible however must be available to work until 5:30pm.
Qualifications
● Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, or a related field
● Clean criminal record check
● Standard Child Emergency First Aid with CPR C
● Experience supporting children with diverse developmental and behavioral needs
● Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills
● Ability to sustain attention to multiple situations
● Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
● Ability to work independently and with initiative
● Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with children, staff, families, director and school personnel
Note: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Job Description
· Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans in collaboration with families and management.
· Conduct parent meetings to review care strategies and support children’s development.
· Observe and document children’s progress to inform responsive care and programming.
· Support staff recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and participate in staff meetings.
· Act as primary liaison with Queen Alexandra.
· Assume School Age Leader duties, including direct supervision and program leadership as needed.
· Foster positive, professional relationships with families, staff, and school personnel.
· Ensure compliance with Island Health Licensing Regulations and uphold high standards of child safety and well-being.
· Plan and lead inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities in line with the Centre’s philosophy and the Early Learning Framework (ELF).
· Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment tailored to diverse learning needs.
· Use various guidance techniques to support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
· Lead and inspire a collaborative team environment, promoting respect and confidentiality in all communications.
