Job Title: Territory Representative
Reports To: The position will report to Operations Manager
Overview:
The Territory Representative is responsible for overseeing multiple store locations within a large assigned area. This role is divided into two primary responsibilities:
- Auditing – Ensuring store compliance with company policies, verifying product placement, monitoring inventory levels, and reporting discrepancies.
- Merchandising – Managing product replenishment, maintaining displays, and implementing strategies to enhance product visibility and sales performance.
Through regular store visits, the Territory Representative plays a key role in optimizing store operations, improving sales performance, and fostering strong relationships with store managers and staff.
**This is a part-time position with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs**
Duties and Responsibilities:
Auditing Responsibilities:
- Conduct store audits to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
- Evaluate product placement, inventory levels, and promotional displays.
- Identify and report issues related to stock availability, damaged products, or non-compliance with merchandising guidelines.
- Arrange and replenish products in store racks, shelves, and displays.
- Document findings by taking photos and submitting reports promptly.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager to address discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain professional relationships with store managers and staff.
- Train new merchandisers on proper ordering and best practices for product handling and merchandising.
- Set sales targets based on company objectives to drive performance and achieve business goals.
Merchandising Responsibilities:
- Maintain and replenish products in store racks, shelves, and displays by transporting items from the backroom/storage room to the sales floor using manual or powered equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand truck).
- Build, modify, or remove product displays while adhering to company standards.
- Maintain product signage, clean product spaces, and secure damaged or defective products.
- Accurately report inventory counts, product issues, and incidents related to vendors and customers using the company’s merchandising applications.
- Ensure shrink level remains below 2% of the daily invoice to minimize losses.
- Check invoice accuracy and send photos of invoices with stickers immediately to head office at dnwsap@gmail.com.
- Send photos of product placements in stores to head office at orderdesk@dnwdistribution.com.
- Manage the backroom by organizing stock, monitoring inventory levels, processing damaged products, and repacking items.
- Follow all store policies regarding the backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment usage, and safety procedures.
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements.
- Lift, carry, and position products weighing up to 50 lbs (22 kg) above shoulder height without assistance.
- Frequently kneel, squat, and reach above the head to handle products.
- Operate manual and powered equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand truck) to transport product loads a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
- Repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of various sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time, including traveling to different store locations as assigned.
- Label and date merchandise expiry for proper stock rotation.
- Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Must have access to a personal vehicle for use during working hours.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major violations over the last three (3) years.
- three (3) years experience in retail, merchandising, auditing, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
- Proficiency in using mobile apps or software for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to lift and transport products (up to 50 lbs or 22 kg) as needed.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
