About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Fleet, the Fleet Coordinator is responsible for optimal utilization of SMS Equipment’s fleet program company-wide. This position is based out of our Corporate Office in Acheson, AB.
This position offers a hybrid work environment, providing the opportunity to work remotely for a portion of the week.
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$77,000.
What you’ll do:

Coordinate procurement, leases and disposal of service vehicles for all regions.

Collaborate with accounting departments to ensure efficient transfer and communication of figures.

Ensuring timely and effective records management for all fleet services.

Maintain fleet telematics, including leading and supporting the understanding of Electronic Logging Devices and Hours of Service through the fleet telematics system.

Ensure all necessary documentation for service vehicles and equipment is maintained.

Perform/lead NSC Training for branches in Hours of Service, Trip Inspection and Cargo Securement.

Develop, create, and analyze data analytics reporting to support branch level operations.
What you bring:
The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma and a minimum of 3 years experience in a Fleet Administrator role or similar. Other requirements include:
- Strong Working knowledge of Interprovincial, National Safety Code and Transport Canada Federal Carrier Regulations
- Excellent computer proficiency Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PDF editing, and Gantt charts.
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups
- Detail orientation and strong analytical skills
- Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines and complete projects
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
