Position Summary
This position supports the Job Development and Employer Engagement within BC. Acting as the main point of contact and support to a range of regional Employers, the role supports full circle recruitment and specialized strategies to support our Alumni and Employers.
This position receives Job Opportunities from new and existing employer partners (either through Senior Leadership or their own contacts) and deconstructs opportunities for key requirements, job specifications requirements to communicate to the Program Delivery Team. The role collects and sends resumes to employer contacts, provides timely follow-up as needed and supports in scheduling interview coordination, and assigns and tracks additional follow-up items to the Program Delivery Team (as needed).
The role will also organize employment-focused events for Current Cohorts such as hiring events with key and new employer partners and will identify opportunities to connect and partner with existing and potential employer partners.
The position requires the Talent Matching Specialist to be based in British Columbia.
Accountabilities and Deliverables
Job Opportunities and Interview Coordination: Alumni

Responsible for ensuring 80% employment rate within 6 months of graduation
-
Receives Job Opportunities from new and existing employer partners (either through Job Developer, Management or their own contacts). Deconstructs opportunities for key requirements, job specifications requirements and communicates this to the Program Delivery Team and Alumni Placement Team

Collects and sends Resumes to employer contacts, provides timely follow-up as needed and supports in scheduling Interview Coordination

Updates/creates and monitors Salesforce Opportunities and statuses
-
Organizes Employment focused events such as hiring events with key employer partners and new employer partners looking to hire NPower Canada Alumni
-
Organizes and supports large employment hiring initiatives.
Job Opportunities and Interview Coordination: Current Cohorts

Performs vetting of all identified applicants put forward by site teams or identified from Class Skill Set
-
Communicates with current participants job opportunities, requirements, deadlines, etc.

Collects and sends Resumes to employer contacts, provides timely follow-up as needed and supports in scheduling Interview Coordination

Organizes Employment focused events such as hiring events with key employer partners and new employer partners looking to hire NPower Canada Alumni
-
Tracks additional follow-up items for follow-up, requesting mock interview support, assessments, next steps, etc.

Organizes and supports large employment hiring initiatives

Creates Dashboards for employment tracking and works with Senior Leadership to work towards 40% employment rate upon graduation.
Job Development

Responsible for developing and strengthening new and existing employer partnerships through solid vetting, appropriate follow-up and support as needed

Identifies opportunities to connect and partner with existing and potential employer partners

Generates job opportunities for Alumni and Current Participants.
Who You Are
-
Minimum of 3+ years of directly related work experience in job development, sales presentation, and human services experience
-
Post-secondary education in human resources, business, human services or a related area is preferred
-
Bilingual (French-English) is a must
-
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse population of our participants/alumni with barriers to employment
-
Excellent track history, preferably at NPower Canada, leading alumni placement program and attaining program objectives, as established
-
Excellent interpersonal and self-management skills to work effectively with clients, collective staff members, outside agencies and employers
-
Knowledge of the impact of COVID-19 on the relevant IT labour market, job search techniques, job search resources and employment research methods
-
Enthusiastic self-starter who perceives challenges as opportunities
-
Thrives on helping our participants achieve their career goals and connecting employers with great talent
-
Familiarity with HR best practices regarding recruitment, onboarding and performance management
-
Highly agile and adaptable to changing environment
-
Excellent time and task management and prioritization skills
-
Proven ability to build credible relationships and demonstrate good judgement.

Highly analytical and detail-oriented
-
Data management and reporting proficiency; experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM is an asset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated through the preparation and delivery of written reports, presentations and sensitive communications with employers and alumni
-
Knowledge of online communication platforms, techniques, and tools (ex. Zoom, Microsoft Teams) with an aptitude and willingness to learn and work with new technologies

Equipped to work remotely with adequate internet capabilities.
