Position Title: Mechanical Designer
Position Hours: Full Time- 37.5 hours/week
Position Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Working within multi-discipline project teams, the ideal candidate will be an energetic team-player with experience designing mechanical systems for buildings. The ideal candidate will have specific experience designing mechanical systems for institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial, and industrial facilities.
Your responsibilities will include all aspects of design and analyses, including system selection, life cycle cost calculation, and implementation of systems.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with engineering in simple to complex mechanical buildings including utilization of design programs (AutoCAD, REVIT)
- The ability to work independently on complex institutional, industrial, municipal, healthcare and commercial engineering projects
- The ability to carry out routine construction assignments, site surveys and field work
- The ability to liaise with clients, contractors and local authorities
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Responsibilities:
- To develop an understanding of building codes, design concepts and V&R standards
- Design and prepare mechanical reports, contract documents, drawings and specifications for all aspects of mechanical systems for institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities
- Design and calculation aspects of specialty mechanical system
- Conduct site reviews and attend project meetings with clients as required
- Coordinate mechanical design with electrical drawings and services
Assets:
- LEED Accredited
- AutoCAD and/or REVIT experience
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.

Pay: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
