Description Under the direction of the Loss Prevention Manager, this role is responsible aiding in Loss Prevention activities using Purolator systems and CCTV review to investigate high priority traces, claims, theft, fraud, and loss incidents. Conduct audits and provide reports to the Loss Prevention team to identify areas of opportunity, trend national damage and loss claims, prevent and mitigate loss and damages through education, investigation, and observation of shipment handling to both PCL employees and customers.
- Investigate and report non-compliance issues as it pertains to the business
- Conduct Purolator’s Policy & Procedure compliance audits, and Facility Security audits
- Conduct Customer Packaging Compliance, Piece count audits and Damage
- Assess current security protocols and make recommendations
- Conduct investigations and surveillances as directed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Loss Prevention Investigation experience required
- College education or equivalent is preferred
- Good working knowledge of CCTV systems, namely Genetec
- Experience in the courier / cargo / transport industry is an asset
- Independent self-starter, takes initiative and has proven problem-solving abilities
- Able to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Detail oriented, possessing strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to coordinate a wide variety of duties and responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work with a high degree of honesty and integrity
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications
- PCI or CPP certification preferred or in progress
- WZ certification considered an asset
- Knowledge of investigative techniques and ability to use various loss prevention & security equipment
- Other duties and responsibilities associated with the Security and Loss Prevention Department
Licenses
- Must possess class “G” driver’s license
- Security Guard or Private Investigator Licence (Province Specific) is an asset
Working Conditions
- Office Environment / Warehouse Environment
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends at short notice
