The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department (Engineering Operations) requires a Regular Full-time Assistant Supervisor, Operations - Streets / Roads
You will participate and assist in the planning and assigning of work of a small group of subordinates engaged in construction and maintenance tasks such as; asphalt repair and maintenance, traffic control, trench restoration, signage installation and maintenance, snow and ice response, boulevard and laneway maintenance, and coordinating and directing the work of truck drivers and equipment operators, and external contractors. A thorough knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures and materials, tools and equipment used in street maintenance and construction operations is required while ensuring performance standards, specifications and safety procedures are met.
You will have completed Grade 12 plus some coursework related to the work or an equivalent combination of training and education. You will have considerable knowledge of and direct related experience in streets and construction and maintenance operations. The ability to supervise and assist in the work of a small group of employees, read construction drawings, prepare work records and set up grades are also required along with proficiency in Microsoft and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Salary:
$36.68 per hour (January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work:
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
