JOB OVERVIEW

Our Piece Part Repair Business Unit (PPR) in Montreal is expanding, and we are seeking a driven Operations Supervisor to join our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead shop floor operations, promote a culture of ownership and autonomy, and contribute directly to the achievement of business objectives.

The Operations Supervisor will oversee one or more departments within the PPR—such as Cleaning, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Inspection, Surface Treatment, Paint, Machining, Welding, and Sheet Metal. This position requires a hands-on leader with operational expertise who can align resources, drive performance, and instill a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

This position is for the afternoon/evening shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage shop floor production in assigned departments, ensuring alignment with customer orders and business commitments.
  • Oversee and align resources within the assigned departments to meet operational requirements efficiently.
  • Monitor and maintain departmental budgets in line with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Training, 6S, and Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) policies.
  • Lead and support Lean Six Sigma initiatives to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Address and resolve non-conformance and audit findings within required timelines.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to direct reports and shop floor teams.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to optimize workflow and meet turnaround time (TAT) targets.
  • Drive key performance metrics, including safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), or a related industrial field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration, Aerospace, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise teams in one or more of the following areas: Cleaning, NDT, Inspection, Surface Treatment, Paint, Machining, Welding, or Sheet Metal.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, Lean Six Sigma implementation, and meeting operational KPIs.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to manage priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking to identify and implement solutions effectively.
  • Previous experience supervising union-represented employees is an asset
