Position Summary:
The School of Continuing Studies at McGill University is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant (TA) to support a cohort of 25 undergraduate engineering students visiting from the State of Yucatán, Mexico. This unique opportunity is ideal for individuals with a background in foundational engineering who are enthusiastic about education and cross-cultural engagement. The TA will play a key role in helping students enhance their English speaking and listening skills, with a focus on integrating engineering concepts and vocabulary into practical, real-world communication activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of lectures, labs, and/or field-specific site visits.
- Provide support to students through discussion sessions, lectures, labs, and/or field-specific site visits.
- Collaborate with the academic program coordinator and instructor on the delivery of academic materials.
- Monitor and report student performance or concerns to the course instructor.
- Provide guidance to students with their self-directed project; familiarity with LMS/MyCourses is required.
- Ensure adherence to academic integrity policies.
Required Qualifications:
- A completed or ongoing master’s degree in engineering.
- Strong understanding of foundational branches, specialized and cross-disciplinary fields.
- Effective & concise English language skills, including a working knowledge of French.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
Hourly Salary:
