The Events & Marketing Assistant is responsible for supporting the execution of our webinars, in-person events and general marketing activities

. Based in Ontario

 Canada, the ideal candidate is hands-on, detail oriented and thrives in fast-paced environments.

This is a part-time  contract position starting in July 2025 and ending March 31 st 2026 . The role reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager and works closely with the communication team, the Regional Innovation Directors, and the Administrative Specialist .  While this role is remote first, work from home, travel will be required on occasion, particularly to in-person events.

Who you are:

You are a positive and energetic individual, with strong organizational skills. You can see the big picture and incorporate organizational strategy into your day-to-day work. You can manage your time well and work effectively in a collaborative, fast paced, agile, and sometimes high-pressure environment. You are curious and want to find better, novel, more innovative ways to solve business problems.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys juggling multiple projects, and is comfortable supporting both virtual and in-person events from behind the scenes.

The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, professional, and just as comfortable setting up a Zoom meeting as they are managing a registration table at an in-person event. You’ll work closely with our Marketing Manager, Operations team, RID’s, and external partners, acting as a key connector between our members, customers, and strategic vendors.

What you’ll be doing:

· Webinars & Virtual Events

o Manage logistics: create registration pages, send invitations, track sign-ups, prep materials

o Run live webinars: handle Zoom backend, speaker support, chat moderation, troubleshooting

o Ensure seamless execution, from dry runs to post-event follow-up

o Create SOPs for internal staff

· Event Coordination

o Provide on-site support for local (Ontario-based) events: set up registration tables, liaise with caterers and venues, manage signage and materials

o Create detailed checklists and run-of-show documents

o Act as point of contact for speakers, participants, and vendors

· Translation & Communication Support

o Assist with French translations for event materials and marketing content

o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to share timely, accurate information

· General Support for Other CFIN Initiatives

o Contribute wherever needed – we value proactive thinkers who roll up their sleeves

What you bring:

· Experience with digital marketing/event tools like Zoom, Eventbrite, and Zoho (or similar)

· Comfort with both virtual and in-person event logistics

· Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset

· Strong communication, organization, and time management skills

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

· Comfortable representing the organization professionally with members, partners, and vendors
