About the role
Key Responsibilities
BI Modernization
o Lead hands-on development of data pipelines and reports within Microsoft Fabric.
o Ensure data privacy, security, and access controls are properly implemented.
o Collaborate with vendors and partners to align final solutions with business expectations.
ETL & Data Warehouse
o Design, deploy, and maintain ETL processes (currently SSIS/manual imports).
o Manage and enhance the data warehouse (currently SQL Server on Azure).
Reporting & Analysis
o Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights via Power BI.
o Build and optimize dashboards and enable self-service reporting.
Project Collaboration
o Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive BI initiatives.
o Translate business requirements into technical solutions with clear value and transparency.
Operational Support
o Provide timely resolutions for BI-related issues, bugs, and inquiries.
o Communicate project updates, insights, and challenges effectively across teams.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.

Strong hands-on experience as a BI Developer and/or Data Engineer on Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Platform.

Strong expertise in data modeling and semantic modeling to support self-service analytics.

Proficiency in Fabric Data Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Python, PySpark, and SQL.

Proven ability to design and implement scalable, configurable, and reusable data processing frameworks.

Deep understanding of efficient data architecture and pipeline design, including automation, parameterization, error handling, orchestration and monitoring.

Hands-on experience with the Microsoft BI stack, especially Power BI and Fabric.

Experience implementing Row-Level Security, Column-Level Filtering, Role-Based Access Controls, and Data Masking/Anonymization.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.

Microsoft Fabric certification or prior implementation experience.
-
Bonus: Experience with Data Governance frameworks or implementation.
Notes:
This is a hybrid role (3 days in office) based out of our HQ in Richmond. The base salary will range between $115,000 - $130,000 with bonus.
