Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. (https://totalsystems.ca) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Writer to support our public sector client, the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR) in British Columbia. This remote position is responsible for leading the development of comprehensive Business Cases, Concept Cases, End of Term Assessments, and Treasury Board Submissions that drive key strategic decisions.
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in stakeholder engagement, current state analysis, and business outcomes documentation. They will manage content development processes and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications in alignment with BC Public Sector policies and Treasury Board standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the writing and content development of the Business Case for the WorkBC program.
- Conduct a comprehensive business needs analysis.
- Develop business outcomes documents through interviews, workshops, and research.
- Complete current state reviews and translate findings into actionable documentation.
- Hold pen and provide expert writing services for the Concept Case, End of Term Assessment, and Treasury Board Submissions.
- Review and integrate relevant documents that feed into each of the above deliverables.
- Collaborate with the Deal Office and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strategic alignment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 7 years of proven experience as a Senior Business Writer or similar role, ideally within the BC Public Sector.
- Demonstrated experience developing strategic planning documents such as Business Cases, Concept Cases, and End of Term Assessments.
- Strong knowledge of BC Government procurement processes and Treasury Board documentation standards.
- Proficient in conducting stakeholder interviews, workshops, and synthesizing complex technical/business requirements.
- Experience managing content development and documentation lifecycle from initiation through to delivery.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to distill complex ideas into concise, impactful documentation.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and collaboration tools.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Contract and Working Conditions
- Contracted via Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc.
- Remote position with availability required during standard BC Government business hours (PST).
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: Up to $100.00 per hour
