Located in North York, our client is a privately-owned company in the security devices industry. The Finance Manager is an integral member of the management team and will be a key contributor to the growth of a successful, progressive organization. This position reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities:

• financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting; budget management, cash flow analysis, and payroll management
• build and create with the owners short and long term KPIs to guide the company’s growth, define success for various business and finance processes
• lead the preparation of periodic financial statements
• develop, maintain and be responsible for the internal financial controls, reporting policies and procedures
• actively monitor and analyze financial and operational performance, oversees opportunities to reduce costs and provides analysis for accurate and appropriate cost planning, and decision-making
• work to remain on top of trends and opportunities, manage the business planning and forecast processes, and prepares the corporate financial business plan to take advantage of all strategic opportunities identified
• helps owners to manage relationships with banks, lawyers, external auditors, key suppliers/vendors, protects the financial position of the company

Education and Experience

• University degree in accounting and an accredited professional accounting designation is preferred
• Minimum 8 years of broad and progressively responsible experience in Finance and Accounting function.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of compliance and internal control.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communication and presentation skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information for non-financial audience
• Professional demeanor towards duties and responsibilities, particularly regarding professional ethics and the exercise of professional judgement
• Proactive in identifying problems & finding solutions
