Role Overview

Our Digital Risk and Cyber Security team is seeking a highly energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Business Operations Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Risk Practice & Resilience, this role bridges the gap between business strategy, operational execution, and financial discipline. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of data analysis, business analysis, and budget support experience to drive operational performance for the department.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Champion the 3 lines of defense model for risk management and act as a 2nd line of defense facilitator regularly interacting with the 1st line of defense.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs) and other metrics to track the effectiveness of business strategies and initiatives.
  • Partner with finance to ensure alignment with department budget execution, including:
  • Support the monitoring of department and project budgets.
  • Support tracking budget vs. actuals, forecasts, variances, and explanations of variances.
  • Support annual budget planning and contingency planning to inform strategic decision making.
  • Partner with supply management to maintain vendor governance to maximize value from our vendors through cost control, ongoing performance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
  • Design, develop, and implement a scalable information architecture for the department, including data structure, taxonomy, metadata management, information lifecycle and access protocols in alignment with enterprise data governance policies.
  • Analyze current business processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Implement streamlined standard operating procedures to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Improve our client experience by supporting the planning and implementation of the service delivery model, prioritization model, demand strategy, and annual surveys.
  • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of business communications materials (advisories, reports, presentations).
  • Participate in compliance audits and assist in preparation of documentation required.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective organizational abilities, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in business operations.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Practical Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business operations, data analytics, or a similar role.
  • Experience designing and implementing information architecture frameworks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the field of cyber security is a plus.

Certifications / Training a Plus

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
  • Business Operations Foundations
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate

Pay Range: CAD $83,000 - $103,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
