Location: Saskatchewan
Employment Type: Full-time | Field-Based
Compensation: $35–$40/hour (based on experience)
Are you passionate about quality control, safety, and ensuring infrastructure is built right the first time? RFNOW Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Inspector – Telecom Infrastructure to join our growing team. Based in Saskatchewan, this role plays a critical part in overseeing on-site activities related to our telecom construction projects, ensuring they meet our high standards and municipal requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct regular field inspections on telecom construction sites, including plowing, trenching, boring, handhole installations, and fiber prep.
- Ensure all work is completed in alignment with project drawings, specs, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Track and verify infrastructure quantities for progress billing accuracy.
- Capture detailed field notes, as-builts, photos, and inspection reports.
- Liaise with internal teams and contractors to troubleshoot on-site challenges.
- Attend pre-construction meetings, site walks, and final inspections.
- Monitor restoration efforts and flag any non-compliance or scope changes.
- Confirm utility locates are accurate before excavation begins.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in utility, telecom, or civil construction (fiber preferred).
- Solid understanding of directional drilling, trenching, aerial installs, and hydro-vac processes.
- Knowledge of CSA standards, OH&S regulations, and municipal construction requirements.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and utility maps.
- Proficient with mobile tools and platforms like Excel, Google Docs, and Vitruvi.
- Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel between sites.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, independent work style.
Bonus Points For:
- Telecom inspection or FTTH experience.
- Safety certifications (First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Space, Ground Disturbance).
- Experience using Vitruvi, ArcGIS, or Fulcrum.
