About the role

Position Summary The Warehouse Associate is an integral part of the team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse. This role involves handling a wide range of tasks, from receiving shipments and managing inventory to fulfilling orders and ensuring accuracy as well as safety and cleanliness standards are met. The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting the overall productivity of the warehouse and ensuring that customer orders are processed accurately and promptly.

This role is located at our branch located 526 Avenue Lepine Dorval, QC H9P 2V6 - The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with flexibility as needed.

Key Responsibilities And Duties Receiving and Unloading:

  • Unload incoming trucks both manually and using a forklift.
  • Inspect shipments to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
  • Accurately receive items into the ERP system and update inventory records.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring efficient use of space and easy retrieval.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders, ensuring products are packaged securely and correctly.
  • Ensure orders are prepared and ready for shipping in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.

Equipment Operation:

  • Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Follow all operational guidelines for equipment use to ensure safety and efficiency.

Inventory Management:

  • Perform regular cycle counts of inventory to ensure stock levels are accurate, creating positive customer experience
  • Assist in reconciling any discrepancies in inventory and report findings to management.

Shipping:

  • Coordinate and process outgoing shipments using various carrier options (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
  • Update shipping details in the ERP system to reflect accurate tracking information.

Maintenance and Housekeeping:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the warehouse at all times.
  • Regularly inspect the warehouse for cleanliness, equipment maintenance needs, and safety hazards.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Promptly report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to management.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or general labor experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with ERP systems for inventory and order management.
  • Forklift and Order Picker certifications are a plus; training will be provided if necessary.
  • Proficiency in French or other languages is advantageous.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, can do mentality, and ability to work well in a team environment.

Knowledge And Skills Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry tools and warehouse materials weighing up to 50+ pounds frequently throughout the day.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders to retrieve or store products safely.
  • Capability to use both manual and powered tools and machinery (e.g., forklift) efficiently and safely.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in basic computer operations including printing tickets, using shipping software, MS Office Suite, and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling inventory and fulfilling orders.
  • Ability to navigate the internet for research and order processing purposes.

Safety Consciousness:

  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and act promptly to address them.
