About the role
EmpowHERto is seeking a Volunteer PR & Media Relations Specialist to support our
Communications team in amplifying our brand’s voice and impact. This role will focus on media
outreach, storytelling, and public relations strategies to increase awareness of
EmpowHERto’s mission and programs.
As a PR & Media Relations Specialist, you will work closely with the Communications
Manager to develop and execute strategies that secure meaningful media coverage, strengthen
our relationships with press and influencers, and position EmpowHERto as a leading advocate
for women’s empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
● Media Relations & Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts,
including journalists, bloggers, and influencers aligned with EmpowHERto’s mission.
● Press & Storytelling: Draft and distribute compelling press releases, media advisories,
and pitches to secure media coverage for EmpowHERto’s programs, events, and
milestones.
● Interviews & Media Coordination: Support the coordination of interviews, press
appearances, and media events featuring EmpowHERto’s leadership and program
spokespeople.
● Content Development: Create engaging media materials, including press kits,
newsletters, and impact stories that showcase EmpowHERto’s initiatives.
● Brand Messaging & Consistency: Collaborate with the marketing team to align PR
efforts with digital content strategies, ensuring a cohesive and engaging brand narrative.
● Event PR Management: Assist in planning and executing PR strategies for events,
including pre-event publicity, media coverage, and post-event follow-ups (press releases,
media reports, etc.).
● Monitoring & Reporting: Track PR metrics, including media mentions, press hits, and
engagement levels, providing insights and recommendations for future campaigns.
Ideal Candidate:
● Passionate about women’s empowerment and social impact
● Strong writing, communication, and storytelling skills
● Familiarity with media relations, press outreach, and digital PR
● Experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications
(preferred)
● Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a collaborative team
environment
This is an unpaid volunteer role with an opportunity to gain hands-on PR experience, expand
