Role Overview As a Salesforce Release Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the release lifecycle for Salesforce applications within a telecom environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployments, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and enforce governance standards across development, staging, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end Salesforce release process, including sandbox management, version control, and deployment strategies.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, Copado, or Gearset. Coordinate with development, QA, and business teams to schedule and execute releases with minimal disruption.
- Implement and enforce release governance, including change control, rollback strategies, and audit compliance.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues and provide root cause analysis and resolution.
- Maintain documentation for release processes, deployment guides, and environment configurations.
- Monitor Salesforce platform updates and assess their impact on existing deployments.
- Support integration of Salesforce with telecom-specific systems (e.g., billing, provisioning, CRM).
Required Qualifications.
- 4+ years of experience in Salesforce release engineering or DevOps roles.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata, packaging, and deployment tools.
- Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with telecom business processes and Salesforce industry solutions (e.g., Communications Cloud).
- Experience with Salesforce DX, scratch orgs, and unlocked packages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II, DevOps Specialist, or Administrator.
- Experience with telecom clients or managed service environments (e.g., Rogers, SaskTel, Bell, Telus).
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
