About the role
As the Production Control Planner, you are responsible for ensuring that production processes run smoothly and that products are delivered on time. This role will be working in close communication with management, engineering, and production employees on a daily basis. To excel in this role, you will be expected to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
Location: 451 Elgin Street, Brantford, ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday
Job Duties:
- Plan and schedule material processes according to the production schedule
- Monitor the production plan and resolve any potential material issues
- Investigate production problems; analyze root causes and systems, including MRP, Kanban, and heijunka to improve material consistency
- Analyze delays and shortages; communicate production material requirements to meet delivery dates
- Plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages
- Coordinate with production to plan and implement engineering change notices (ECN’s)
- Monitor production progress and ensure that all materials are scheduled to arrive on time
- Maintain reports for production staff and Managers
- Meet with Production staff daily to stay up to date with schedules and priorities
- Work with the Production team to further the development of MRP accuracy and build an efficient ordering practice for intercompany materials
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in repeat data entry while ensuring accuracy
- Detail-oriented, precise, efficient problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with active listening
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and disciplines
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Mechanical Technician / Technologist Program or Material / Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- Project Management Courses considered an asset
- Experience in SolidWorks suite of products.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
