About the role
Millar Western Forest Products Ltd.’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is currently seeking a Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic. This role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to join our team, requiring a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform a range of tasks focused on safety and technical efficiency. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining industrial equipment such as forklifts, loaders, butt-n-top machines, Jenbacher gas engines, and other mobile units, while consistently upholding safety and production standards.
The ideal candidate
The preferred candidate will hold a Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trade Certificate and have experience in an industrial environment. A secondary trade certification (e.g., Millwright), along with experience working on mobile equipment—such as forklifts, wheel loaders, and butt-n-top loaders—and industrial engines, is an asset. Strong troubleshooting skills and a collaborative team approach are essential.
