Customs Analyst – 6-Month Contract ($22.75–$31.00/hour)

Location: Windsor, ON

Industry: Automotive / Manufacturing

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Analyst for a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension or full-time conversion. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in facilitating the compliant and efficient movement of goods across international borders while ensuring all shipments meet applicable regulations and internal standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound international shipments, ensuring full compliance with customs documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to CBSA and U.S. CBP regulations, including CBSA’s CARM portal.
  • Acquire and manage USMCA/CUSMA certificates and respond to inquiries related to trade agreements.
  • Review and audit import/export documentation for accuracy prior to customs submission.
  • Classify goods using Canadian and U.S. Tariff Schedules and verify duty rates and origin status.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, agents, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipment issues and ensure timely movement of goods.
  • Review broker invoices, verify charges, and audit duty applications for accuracy.
  • Oversee export declarations via the Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS).
  • Maintain accurate records for audit readiness and support refund or amendment filings as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation preferred; candidates in progress toward certification will be considered.
  • Previous experience in customs compliance within manufacturing or a similar environment is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. customs laws, Harmonized Tariff classification, valuation, and international trade documentation.
  • Proficiency with SAP and customs brokerage platforms is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada; occasional U.S. travel may be required.

COMPENSATION

$22.75–$31.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
