Customs Analyst – 6-Month Contract ($22.75–$31.00/hour)
Location: Windsor, ON

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Analyst for a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension or full-time conversion. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in facilitating the compliant and efficient movement of goods across international borders while ensuring all shipments meet applicable regulations and internal standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate inbound and outbound international shipments, ensuring full compliance with customs documentation and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to CBSA and U.S. CBP regulations, including CBSA’s CARM portal.
- Acquire and manage USMCA/CUSMA certificates and respond to inquiries related to trade agreements.
- Review and audit import/export documentation for accuracy prior to customs submission.
- Classify goods using Canadian and U.S. Tariff Schedules and verify duty rates and origin status.
- Liaise with customs brokers, agents, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipment issues and ensure timely movement of goods.
- Review broker invoices, verify charges, and audit duty applications for accuracy.
- Oversee export declarations via the Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS).
- Maintain accurate records for audit readiness and support refund or amendment filings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation preferred; candidates in progress toward certification will be considered.
- Previous experience in customs compliance within manufacturing or a similar environment is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. customs laws, Harmonized Tariff classification, valuation, and international trade documentation.
- Proficiency with SAP and customs brokerage platforms is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada; occasional U.S. travel may be required.
COMPENSATION
$22.75–$31.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
