The Kootenay Co-op is looking for a Grocery Clerk to join the Grocery Team! Do you have an interest in natural + organic foods? Do you like teamwork? Can you lift up to 25 lbs safely? Apply now! The following position is for 16-20 hours a week, evening and weekend availability required.
SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS
- Team oriented
- Efficient methods for the stocking and rotation of perishable products
- Impeccable attendance & punctuality; ability to clock-in/out accurately
- Knowledge of whole, natural, and organic foods
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop and maintain favorable relations with customers, staff, and vendors
- Cooperative, respectful communication skills
- Ability to approach problems with a positive attitude and have creative, constructive solutions on hand
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner
- Flexible in the face of variable work requirements, able to maintain high level of productivity.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Excellent customer service skills
- Stock product
- Ensure grocery, bulk, cooler and freezer departments of the store are well rotated, fronted, faced and cleaned at all times
- Provide excellent customer service to member and non-member shoppers
- Monitor perishables and near date products and take appropriate actions to minimize loss
- Follow proper back stock procedures (block, condense, rotate, etc.)
- Create and maintain visually appealing monthly displays to promote product specials
