High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time High School Math and Science Teacher/Tutor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering a positive learning environment that encourages students to develop essential skills for academic success. Your contributions will have a direct effect on our mission of enhancing students' learning experiences.

Position Requirements:

All teacher-tutors work in-person after school and evening hours Monday - Thursday 3pm - 8pm and Saturdays 9am - 12pm. You must be available during teaching hours at least 2 days per week for a 3 - 4 hour shift during teaching hours. A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred as your students will love working with you and reliability is very important.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Third and fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Proficiency in Math up to Grade 12 (calculus, functions and data management)
  • Proficiency in Science up to grade 12 (chemistry, physics, and/or biology)
  • Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching online and in-person
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
