What will you be doing!

  • Reviewing regulatory correspondence.
  • Developing corrective action plans.
  • Preparing for, and participating in Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) inspections.
  • Conducting minor investigations.
  • Conducting Threat & Risk Assessment and Site Security reports.
  • Developing and administering employee security awareness programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Post-secondary diploma with concentrated studies in a business or security/police related discipline or equivalent in knowledge and related experience.
    • Formal training in Threat & Risk Assessment (TRA) or Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is considered an asset.
    • Professional certifications such as PSP or CNSP are considered an asset.
  • Experience
    • 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in a business or security/police related discipline with a demonstrated increase in responsibility.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Must possess working knowledge of the Nuclear Safety & Control Act and associated security regulations for High Security Nuclear Facilities (HSNF) and develop detailed knowledge of those regulations in the position.
    • Must have a general knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial and Municipal Statutes.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of management and staff, with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentation material with minimum supervision.
    • Must be discreet, tactful, and honest.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

  • We have a compressed work week, which consists of a four-day work week and ten hours a day, starting at 6 am.
  • Must be willing to travel on an as-required basis and be willing to remain on duty during an emergency.
