Status: Temporary Part-time Support, up to 9 months
Hours: 24 hours per week

**Salary:**PT Support Band 8: $24.99 - $38.45

About the ECE Field Advisor Role:

The Field Advisor position provides a liaison between the Early Childhood Education Field Placement department, ECE students and field placement sites. The position will ensure that learning outcomes and expectations are facilitated and met for both the students and the field placement setting.

The ECE Field Advisor is responsible for liaising between the ECE students, field placement settings, Field Placement Team and the Early Childhood Education program. The Field Advisor works with the child care centre staff and cooperating teachers who facilitate student achievement of field practicum learning outcomes. In addition, the Field Advisor supports students with issues, and concerns while in field placements. Specific responsibilities include: providing feedback to the Field Placement Team on the suitability of the field placement sites for students, facilitates achievement of field practicum learning outcome, visits assigned student’s field placement, provides guidance and support to field placement Mentoring Educator and participates in internal events such as field advisor meetings, and orientation to support success. The Field Advisor will also be required to escalate student performance issues to the Field Placement Team and ECE Field Placement Coordinator as needed.

Education

  • The successful candidate will have a diploma in Early Childhood Education and be currently registered with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.

Experience/Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience in the area of Early Childhood Education, adult education and supervision.
  • Experience in multiple experiential learning settings and various organizational environments.
  • Exemplary ECE skills, communication, conflict resolution and computer skills
