About the Role:
Reporting to the Director Community and Donor Engagement, the Manager, Annual Giving is responsible for management of annual giving to build a steady stream of revenue to support the programs and services of the organization. Leading the direct mail and digital strategy to plan and implement strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors to support the mission of Kerry’s Place Autism Services. Responsibilities may include:
- Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place
- Adheres to manager responsibilities for Health & Safety as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA0 and applicable regulations
- Upholds the principles outlined in the Donor Bill of Rights and engages in ethical decision making in all fundraising activities
- Develop the annual giving program plan to align with the objectives from the Fundraising Strategy; which accounts for 50% of the entire department’s revenue
- Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for unrestricted annual giving
- Design a comprehensive direct mail program and digital giving strategies regularly analyzing data to refine and increase ROI
- Oversee strategy and implementation for Giving Tuesday and monthly giving
- Develop and manage all communications and marketing associated with the annual giving plans; ensuring consistent messaging to donors and prospects coordinating with communications and marketing
- Secure new, renewed and increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail, digital campaigns and events
- Assure timely and accurate donation entry, reporting and stewardship
- Sustain and build the monthly giving program
- Manage signature Kerry’s Place events including the Annual Golf Classic
- Attend third-party events on behalf of the organization and provide support as required
- Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers and community stakeholders
- Explore opportunities to raise awareness of the organization’s work, goals and financial needs
- Comply with Canada Revenue Agency regulations for Charities and related filings
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to manage donations and adhere to appropriate recording, receipting and expenditures of gifts
- Develop and report on KPIs including Annual Fundraising goals to monitor progress, modifying activities as needed to reach targets
- Working with the Director, Community and Donor Engagement to produce specific reporting for the Senior Management and the Board of Directors
- Performs other related duties as required
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required – in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, Social Sciences or related field
- Diploma in Fundraising/Event Management/Resource Development is considered a strong asset
- CFRE designated or committed to working towards this designation is preferred
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- 4+ years in fundraising, community engagement or donor cultivation
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of donor database management
- Successful management of non-profit direct mail and digital solicitation strategies
- Demonstrated history with profitable event management
- Analytical, creative and strategic thinking
- Project planning with acute attention to detail and deadlines
- Highly organized, prioritizing and managing expectations internally and externally
- Skillful writer and storyteller
- French language is an asset
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Position requires flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Travel required across all regions where services and support are provided
- Based out of the Head Office in Newmarket, Ontario
- Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 5 kg
- A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle is required

Welcome to Kerry’s Place Autism Services. We are Canada’s largest service provider to families with children, adolescents, and adults, with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Since 1974 Kerry’s Place has been creating, and providing evidence-based supports and services across the province of Ontario that enhance the quality of life of those with ASD.

With staff numbering more than 1200, Kerry’s Place is one of the only organizations in the country that serves the entire life span of those with ASD.
Through the Ontario Autism Program, we provide children and youth - and their families - a menu of timely, evidence-based services needed to achieve their goals at home, at school, and within their communities. This initiative serves individuals with ASD up to age 18, delivering skill-building groups, individual consultation, and family support.
We provide numerous Community Services and Supports, including our day and overnight respite options to provide a well-deserved break for families with loved ones with Autism, along with our many camps and leisure groups.
Our Adult Skill-Building and Peer Support Groups broaden the social circle for every individual we support. Our Employment Programs lend assistance to young adults with Autism to help develop skills that lead to meaningful employment opportunities.
We provide adults with ASD Residential and Semi-Independent Living Supports at 90 distinct properties across Ontario. Our group living approach provides a safe, 24 hour, home environment where residents are encouraged to pursue their own personal goals including outings into the community, employment, and an array of interests. Many of our residence grow with Kerry’s Place, spending upwards of 30 years with us. And through a lifetime of shared pursuits and generational experiences, we too, grow with them.
