Job Title: Field Sales Engineer (Contractor)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Type: Long-Term Contract

About this position**:**

Advantech is seeking a results-driven Field Sales Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis, supporting sales efforts across the Eastern Canada territory; primarily in Toronto and surrounding regions. This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing key customer accounts, and promoting Advantech’s industrial IoT and embedded computing solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with effective sales skills to support customer success and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities**:**

  • Meet or exceed sales quotas within the assigned territory and target vertical markets.
  • Develop and grow industrial automation direct accounts, including OEM/ODM clients, System Integrators, and VAR customers.
  • Create and execute strategic business plans to maximize sales opportunities within key accounts and new prospects across targeted vertical markets.
  • Prepare professional proposals and presentations in response to customer RFQs and sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including those with multiple site locations.
  • Participate in Advantech Sales Kick-Off Meetings (KOM) held bi-annually, along with product and sales training sessions as needed to support business goals.
  • Travel to customer sites as required (approximately 25%).
  • Submit timely and accurate sales reports and documentation as directed.

Qualifications**:**

  • Minimum 3 years of sales and account management experience in relevant fields
  • Experience with machine and/or robotics automation for industrial OEMs
  • Strong knowledge of industrial PC technologies, including I/O, HMI, and PC-based control/monitoring applications
  • Familiarity with the machine builder market and Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions
  • Excellent sales, presentation, and communication skills
  • Results-driven, high-energy sales professional with a strong customer focus
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and programs
  • Proven success managing and growing large accounts in collaboration with sales and product teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office tools, with accurate pipeline and deal tracking
  • Solid technical aptitude preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
