About the role
Job Statement:
The Production Material Administrator will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement,
storage, and tracking of raw materials (ingredients and packaging) physically and systematically. This role
will have full control of the staging process to the production lines, as well as the return of materials to the
warehouse department.
The Production Material Administrator ensures that materials are available where and when they are
needed to maintain uninterrupted production.
Essential Functions:
- Perform accurate inventory transactions in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)/Batch Master.
- Load, unload, and move materials using a pump truck, walkie, or by hand as required.
- Transport raw materials to appropriate locations within the production areas and warehouse as required.
- Conduct cycle counts and assists with regular physical inventory audits on the production lines, if required by the Plant Manager/BUL.
- Keep material staging areas, including the warehouse and production areas, clean and well-organized.
- Identify and report any discrepancies in lot numbers, quantities, or damaged goods to the Plant Manager/BUL and the Inventory/Warehouse team to validate the staging process, ensuring the Production Supervisor can properly consume/issue the raw materials.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth material flow between staging locations and the mixing and packaging areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies related to material handling.
- Assist the production team in returning materials from the production area to the designated warehouse return material area.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Physical Demand:
- May be required to stand/ sit/ walk for long periods of time.
- May require exposure to varying temperatures, loud machinery, and physical labor.
- Fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 25kg/50lb
Health and Safety:
- Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner.
- Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP and HACCP training as required.
- Report any accidents, incidents and unsafe/hazardous conditions to your PM or BUL.
- Report any damages of property and machinery to your PM or BUL.
- Ensure that you understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is located in your work area.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/ or laws that govern “workers” responsibilities in the workplace (covered during orientation – section 28 of the OHSA i.e., “Green Book”) and Compliance with Tradition Fine Foods Ltd. Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP Programs.
Job Specification:
- High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and inventory system knowledge.
- 1 year of similar work experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Training in WHMIS and SDS would be considered an asset.
- Ability to maintain working relationship with coworkers and subordinates.
- Available for shift and weekends work if required.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when using our WMS system, along with strong organizational skills.
- Must maintain good attendance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
