About the role

Position Summary The Production Formulator Trainee, under the direct supervision of the Production Shift Foreman, is responsible for learning and performing tasks related to the formulation of products, including operating production equipment, verifying raw materials, processing batches, and maintaining accurate production records. This trainee role is designed to provide hands-on experience in the production process, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality. The Trainee will be involved in all stages of production and packaging operations at the Plant.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating production equipment and systems in accordance with company procedures under direct supervision.
  • Learn troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and adjustment functions on production equipment.
  • Support the supervision of assigned labor in the production area.
  • Verify the identification and weights of raw materials before use.
  • Learn to ensure accuracy in ingredient measurements for staged batches.
  • Assist in processing batches according to manufacturing instructions and specifications.
  • Maintain and record complete and accurate data on quality control records.
  • Collaborate with the production team on other tasks related to packaging and product formulation.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company protocols during the production process.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to safety policies, waste disposal procedures, and quality systems.
  • Ability to operate and learn how to use production equipment and tools.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces and learning complex production processes.

Job Expectations / Working Conditions

  • Regularly required to move throughout the production building and plant site.
  • Frequently required to descend/ascend stairs.
  • Required to lift and/or move objects weighing 5-50 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, pulling, and pushing are necessary.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and raw materials.
