About the role

(Supporting Children up to transition of school)
LOCATION: Kitchener-Waterloo, ON

The Infant and Child Development Consultant has the delegated responsibility to ensure that all services provided are within the context of the mission, values and policies and procedures of KW Habilitation while
partnering with families of young children with developmental disabilities and/or delays to provide family-centered services, including developmental screening, assessment, intervention planning, service
coordination, and support.

This role focuses on supporting children’s participation in daily routines through customized strategies and empowering caregivers through coaching and resource sharing. The Infant and Child Development Consultant, collaborates with a wide range of community partners, maintains thorough documentation for ministry and legal purposes, and plays a key role in helping families navigate transitions and access services. The position requires strong interpersonal, analytical, and planning skills, as well as a deep understanding of child development, family systems, and inclusive practices.

Requirements
• The successful candidate will possess a University Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Studies and /or College Diploma

  • Resource Consultant Certificate (or equivalency)
  • Certification in Child Development – an asset
  • Registration and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) – an asset
  • Over two years of direct experience working with infants and young children, with a strong emphasis on promoting and supporting their developmental milestones in collaboration with families in a consulting role.
  • The incumbent must have a good knowledge of child development, family dynamics, inclusive early learning, early childhood/special needs programming, and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEY)

and the Child and Family Services Act (CFSA), Province of Ontario.

  • Demonstrated competency and skill in the use of computers and software (e.g., MS Office, databases, e-mail, internet).

  • Current Standard First Aid is an asset.

  • Access to reliable transportation.

  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Schedule**: The position is 40 hours per week (some flexibility required)**

Start Date: August, 2025
Rate of Pay**: $58,992.52 – 62,097.39**
