Located in Jordan, Ontario, The Shore offers stunning views and fabulous food. Position Function:
The Line Cook is responsible for assisting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef, in food preparation, cooking, and plating.
If you have a passion for the food industry and possess strong leadership skills, we want to hear from you.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare, cook, and plate food items and present as per the chef’s directions.
- Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the restaurant's standards.
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization.
- Must be able to work in a designated station (garde manger or pizza) with a high performance.
- Assist with preparations of other stations as needed.
- Assist with dishwasher duties as needed.
- Follow health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- 1 year of experience in fast-paced kitchens preferred.
- A degree or diploma in culinary arts, skills, or management is an asset.
- Chef's certificate-apprenticeship program-culinary training. (Preferred)
- Strong communication skills.
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety.
