We are currently seeking a UX Content Designer to join our team Hybrid based in Ottawa, ON.
Position Summary:
The Content Designer Services resource will provide support to digital product teams across digital transformation initiatives. We're looking for a resource who understands the importance of plain language and designing experiences with words first. The resource will provide strategic direction on high-priority projects and influence decisions that improve customer experience.
Job Responsibilities:

Working across different digital products and channels to provide content design services.

Write clear, concise, and engaging micro copy for various digital interfaces, such as buttons, error messages, tooltips, and notifications, guiding users through processes and workflows, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience.

Work closely with UX designers, product owners, business analysts, developers, business stakeholders, and copywriters to ensure content aligns with user needs, design goals and business outcomes.

Support user research and testing efforts to gather insights and feedback on content effectiveness.
-
Continuously iterate and improve content based on user feedback and analytics.

Ensure consistency in tone, style, and voice across all digital platforms using content guidelines.

Contribute to co-creating UX writing style guides to improve consistency and brand voice across digital experiences.
-
As needed, facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to define needs, agree on content design and refinements, ensuring smooth content design processes across the production lifecycle.

Keep up with industry trends and best practices in content design.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Must have 5+ years of proven experience as a UX Content Designer, or similar role.
-
Must currently hold a Reliability Security Clearance.
-
Ideally able to fluently speak and write in English and French (asset).

Bachelor's degree in IT, English, communications, journalism, or a related field.
Required Skills:

Ability to write effective task-oriented micro-copy for financial products and services.
-
Ability to design UI/UX in Figma and using Figma to design content, together with UX designers.

Understanding of UX principles and best practices, and an advocate for user-centered design.
-
Strong knowledge of inclusive design principles and WCAG standards.
-
Effective at working with stakeholders and managing version control and changes.
-
Good understanding of accessible design practices and writing with plain language.
-
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-
Ability to manage a complex environment of stakeholders to ensure clear decisions, good working relationships and smooth content design processes.
Assets:
- Knowledge of analytics and UX metrics.
- Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
- Familiarity with web programming languages such as HTML, CSS.
- Strong understanding of information architecture and content strategy.
Experience working in the financial industry is an asset.
