The BG Supervisor will supervise all background and colour designers with respect to their weekly assignments, ensuring the assigned style is followed and maintained throughout production.

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment and assigning BG tasks.

Create a storyboard breakdown to identify re-use scenes and backgrounds that need to be painted.

Ensure that Director/Clients’ notes and revisions are followed and integrated in line with the production’s style and vision.

Address any creative or technical challenges related to background design and ensure that solutions align with the overall production goals.

Ensure BGs are completed within project deadlines and milestones, in collaboration with the Line Producer, Animation Director, and Production department.

Work with all departments within the pipeline to ensure smooth integration of BGs into the overall production process.

Share knowledge and participate in department meetings to ensure alignment with overall project goals.

Assist in recruiting and onboarding team members as needed for the project.
Requirements
* 1-2 years of experience as a 2D Background Supervisor in a production environment.

A portfolio that demonstrates

Experience using Photoshop for BG creation
-
Examples of Production BGs (Line and Paint work)
-
Line (Layout) – strong examples of perspective, scale, proportion, and composition (ie. one background with different views)

Paint – solid examples of lighting and color theory
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote solutions, share knowledge, and incorporate feedback effectively.

Strong problem-solving abilities in both creative and technical aspects of BG.
Benefits
**Pay Range:** CAD $ 1800 - $ 2000 per week
This salary range reflects our current expectations for these roles as of this posting’s date. Your final salary offer will consider various key factors, including your education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographical location, as well as the needs and requirements of the business.
