Working Hours: 40 Weekly hours (guaranteed)

Scheduled Shift: Varies, dependent upon need, open availability required

Employment Contract: Permanent

Hourly Wage: Starting wage of $36.08 (as per collective agreement)

The Linehaul Driver, Pickup & Delivery drives to/from customer locations and safely operates company vehicles (e.g., tractor-trailers, 5-ton vehicles, shunt trucks, etc.) and material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) to pick up and deliver freight to/from customer locations and meet service level agreements. Job requires working in shifts.

Responsibilities Drive to/from customer locations and safely operates company vehicles (e.g., tractor-trailers, 5-ton vehicles, shunt trucks, etc.) and material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) to pick up and deliver freight to/from warehouse or package depot and/or customer locations and meet service level agreements.

Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch

Pick up, deliver, and load/unload freight at customer locations

Scan freight upon pickup and delivery

Conduct vehicle inspections (tractor - 20-minute pre-trip, 15-minute post-trip; trailer – 15-minute pre-trip per trailer)

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License: Class 1
  • Clean Driving Abstract (please upload a current driver's abstract with your resume)
  • Must successfully pass written & road test(s)
  • Must successfully pass Defensive Driving course
  • Must successfully pass Courier Methods training course
  • Ability to read maps; Good sense of geographical direction
  • Must be able to handle LTL freight and skids
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify
  • Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required

Experience Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record

3 years of Class 1 driving experience
