As the Digital Content Specialist for the Don Wright Faculty of Music, you will be part of a dynamic, energetic communications team, supporting the Communications and Marketing Manager in the coordination and updating of content on all digital platforms for the Don Wright Faculty of Music as the Faculty navigates through its strategic priorities in Crescendo 2026, sharing the story of Western University's Faculty of Music as an educational leader within the global music community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with the overall faculty and department website content updates
- Design, manage process and update Visix and other digital screen platforms when required
- Assist with online video posting
- Assist with the creation of digital assets for all digital platforms
- Design or update printed display, advertising or direct mail materials to support "digital first" content
- Manage the photo collections and database
- Assist with faculty and student permissions regarding public photography and video usage
- Editing and web copy writing
- Create and manage web-based forms
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the Faculty intranet web pages
- Assist with emerging digital projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Cascade (or similar web CMS)
- Experience in graphic design and image editing with strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- A good understanding of social media platforms, including accessibility requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with
frequent interruptions
- Ability to work both independently, taking initiative and following through on work assignments, effectively as
a member of the team to achieve the department goals
Education and Experience Required:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Graphic Design, Digital Content Marketing, Communications, Web
Design, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of experience working on various digital platforms and web design
