Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. The Meat Cutter will be responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, and packaging various types of meat in accordance with company standards and health regulations. This role requires a strong knowledge of meat processing techniques and a commitment to delivering top-quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, debone, and prepare a variety of meats including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage procedures.
- Weigh, wrap, label, and price meat cuts accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat cutting area, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or equipment issues to management.
- Assist customers with meat selection, special requests, and cooking suggestions.
- Ensure proper rotation of stock.
- Comply with company policies and local/state regulations.
- Sharpen knives and maintain cutting tools in good condition.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a meat cutter or butcher preferred.
- Knowledge of different cuts of meat and meat cutting techniques.
- Ability to use knives, saws, grinders, and other cutting tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards .
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical stamina; able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Cold working environment (refrigerated cutting room).
- Fast-paced setting with occasional lifting and repetitive tasks.
- May include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on store hours.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.66-$18.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 38 per week
