Maple Villa is an independent 93-bed licensed long-term care home located in Burlington, Ontario. We are an active community member of the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Local Health Integration Network and Ontario Health West.

Maple Villa is fully accredited by Accreditation Canada and has been providing quality resident and family-focused care since 1971. We continually strive to make a difference, to provide Person and Family-centered care and provide services where safety is a priority.

We are Expanding
The construction of our new 256-bed home is underway in North Burlington with planned completion in the Summer of 2026. This expansion will provide opportunities for career advancement!

The PSW reports directly to the registered nurse and is responsible for providing and ensuring the best standard of care, welfare and safety for our residents. The PSW also assists in promoting the philosophy of our Home and complying with the MOH LTC Home Legislation and Standards.

Duties:

  • Provides personal care for residents including all activities of daily living to ensure their optimum physical, social and emotional well-being.
  • Communicates effectively with residents, staff and families.
  • Provides excellent customer service at all times. Is respectful, courteous and pleasant. Provides individualized service and creates a home-like atmosphere.
  • Observes and reports changes in the resident’s status.
  • Records necessary data (e.g. flow sheets).
  • Shares responsibility for the care of equipment in the Home and the personal belongings of residents.
  • Works co-operatively with team members.
  • Receives direction from registered staff.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Effective interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of the team.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and Two Step TB test within 6 months.

Pay: From $24.65 per hour
