Accounting and Finance Manager – Full-Time | Osoyoos, BC
MATRIX is a national company providing camps, logistics, and aviation management services to clients in the resource and service sectors. We’re known for our responsiveness, safety-first culture, and commitment to delivering value to our partners.
With over 25 years of experience, Matrix has earned a reputation as a trusted leader in remote camp management and logistical solutions across Canada’s most challenging terrains—including the Arctic, mining, and exploration regions. As we scale rapidly across camp construction, remote logistics, and aviation services, we’re seeking a hands-on Accounting and Finance Manager to help drive operational excellence, financial visibility, and scalable systems.
This is a full-time, Osoyoos-based leadership role reporting to the COO.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, financial analysis and financial reporting across remote projects and head office operations
• Partner with executive leadership to shape financial strategy, pricing models, capital plans, and ROI evaluations
• Refine systems and processes across finance operations—supporting automation, cost control, and transparency across functions like travel, scheduling, payroll, and A/P
• Oversee KPI development for billing accuracy, labor cost utilization, project margins, and travel cost reconciliation
• Mentor and guide a growing Finance team (Controller, Payroll, A/P, A/R), and collaborate cross-functionally with Scheduling, Logistics, and Operations
• Ensure robust internal controls and audit readiness in a distributed, multi-location operating environment
• Champion process documentation, systems improvements, and the integration of financial workflows with operational delivery.
Requirements
What You Bring to the Role
• CPA designation strongly preferred; bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership over both strategic and transactional finance functions.
• A proven track record working in high-growth companies or complex operational environments.
• Advanced expertise in Excel and strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP systems, and financial software integration.
• Strong understanding of project-based accounting, logistics finance, or remote operations finance preferred.
• Highly organized and process-oriented, with a passion for transforming ambiguity into structure.
• A team-oriented leader who values collaboration, clarity, and continuous improvement.
Ideal Qualities
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on execution style.
• Expert financial analyst with a knack for producing intuitive reports for a broad range of stakeholders who need to make data-driven operational decisions.
• Process-minded, systems-literate, and comfortable getting into the weeds.
• Collaborative and diplomatic communicator across all levels of the organization.
• Motivated by operational efficiency and building scalable financial infrastructure.
• Calm under pressure, with high emotional intelligence and strong prioritization skills.
• Enjoys creating clarity in dynamic environments and leading cross-departmental alignment.
What You Should Know
This is a role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth settings where no two days are the same. From field operations to executive planning, you’ll play a key role in helping Matrix scale sustainably while ensuring financial integrity and operational alignment.
Benefits
Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000/year base salary and annual discretionary performance bonus.
