About the role
Job Summary:
The Assistant will help coordinate projects, and handle requests from supervisors and other team members within the organization. In addition, the Assistant will assist with digitizing and storage of data and documents under the supervision of the Senior Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
· Provide general administrative support including scheduling, filing, and data entry.
· Maintain organized records and documentation for programs and services.
· Assist with coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
· Support HR and finance teams with clerical tasks as needed.
Communication & Outreach
· Develop and distribute internal/ external newsletters, announcements, and updates.
· Manage social media accounts and website content to reflect current programs and events.
· Draft press releases, promotional materials, and community outreach content.
· Coordinate with local media and community partners for public relations efforts.
Client & Community Engagement
· Serve as a first point of contact for inquiries from the public, clients, and stakeholders.
· Promote a welcoming and culturally safe environment for all visitors and staff.
· Support event planning and logistics for community programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative or communications roles.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
· Experience working in a community services or non-profit setting is an asset.
· Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities in the Terrace area is preferred.
Other Requirements:
· Demonstrated competency in written & verbal communication
· Signed Declaration of Fitness
· Compliance with health immunization requirements
· Acceptable driver’s abstract
· Valid BCDL class 5

Counselling and Support Services - provides a range of confidential counselling and support services for individuals experiencing crisis, mental illness, addictions, and/or displacement.
Employment Services - creates and implements a variety of employment-related training, assisting individuals to overcome their employment barriers in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
